KaiserAir, a charter service based at the Oakland International Airport, has submitted plans to relocate its headquarters to the Livermore Municipal Airport, including a jet fueling station and a hangar for its Boeing 737 and other corporate aircraft
The proposed 45-year lease would net almost $13 million for the Airport Enterprise Fund and was approved by the Airport Commission. It now advances to the Livermore Planning Commission and then onto the City Council for final approval.
Neighborhoods in Pleasanton, Dublin, and Livermore already concerned about an increase in airplane noise have launched petitions to oppose the expansion.
Meanwhile, the Tri-Valley Sierra Club passed a resolution opposing 737 jets landing and departing from Livermore, citing increased air and noise pollution that seriously impacts the health and safety of Tri-Valley residents. Livermore triggered 14 Spare the Air days in 2018, and 56 days in 2020.
